Scientific report

1 Scientific program

There were 48 oral presentations, distributed in the following sessions:
- Geometrical modelling of braided and woven materials;
- Resistance to impact;
- Mesomodels of textiles;
- Fibrous microstructures and 3D imaging;
- Contact modelling for fibrous materials;
- Mechanics of fibers and entangled monofilaments;
- Mechanics of fiber-reinforced composites;
- Mechanics of random fibrous media;
- Buckling and wrinkling of textiles;
- Multi-physics couplings in fibrous materials

Opportunities to bring together people working on fibrous materials are rare, and this was specially appreciated by participants.

2 Publication of a special issue of International Journal of Solids and Structures

The quality of contributions encouraged the organizing committee to propose the publication of a special issue dedicated to our colloquium, and International Journal of Solids and Structures accepted the edition of this special issue. A selection of best contributions was done, and a set of 15 papers are currently under review to be published in this special issue entitled “Fibrous and textile materials”.
